an Introduction To Darth Thought and Why The Fuck Is This Being Published
Hello all, and welcome to my very first post with the Space Monkeys Mafia studios. Your first thought is probably: “WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!” Well, I am Darth Thought. The easiest going Sith you’ll ever see and a literature reviewer to boot. Now, my reasoning behind this? There aren’t that many out there, or at least not in the circles I run. Nobody is out there to warn you of the literature bombs that drop when big publishing decides to push something that shouldn’t be pushed.
I remember back to when Harry Potter was only a four book series and Twilight wasn’t a word on anybody’s lips. I also remember when Stephanie Meyer first said that her book was a parody of vampires; that she despised vampires, and Anne Rice. I remember when young adult literature used to be on the low end of the radar and when RL Stine first broke out with Goosebumps. I want to stave off the infection that we as readers are facing. Because unlike many who think they know publishers are suffering their own form of remake and reboots; look at the book racks now, zombies are invading the classics! This shit pisses me right the fuck off!
First things first though, I’m not going to jump into the bad stuff. I started this to be a complete variation on Atop the Fourth Wall for literature but then I realized I don’t have the mantle that Linkara has yet. It does kill me that there are a lot of unknown or little known authors who go by the wayside in the normal every day affair, let’s take for example; Let The Right One in this had been out for a little over four years or so before it got big here and it was the movie that sparked the interest, even I’m guilty of this one. People take for granted the “New York times bestseller” thing and don’t realize that much like Hollywood, literary works are now run by money. So I’m not going to bitch about bad books just yet; my first few are actually going to be very little known books or books that sparked movies that nobody seems to talk about. Also I’m a horror fan so don’t be surprised if a little horror creeps in there from time to time.
I know I’m rambling and I thank you for staying with me through this, because in all honesty if you’re reading this, that means the words are seeping in. You might ask me “Darth Thought, what qualifies you to make these assumptions or reviews of these books?” Well, in truth nothing, yet also everything. I seem to be the only one upset by the nature of books falling away; ebooks are starting to become popular or pushed and the print variation of books is slowly dying this makes me a sad Sith Lord. And low as I’d like to I can’t exactly bombard them with force lightning (I’ve tried!), so I figure why not talk about it? Why not show you what I think are good books or bad books and tell you what I think make them good or bad. Can’t hurt anything, right?
And don’t talk to the storm trooper with the paper cuts he’s a liar. I didn’t throw twilight at him in a flaming ball I swear!
Anyway the first few reviews are going to be cross posts from my blog on blogger and tumblr; I’ll be giving you those addresses at the bottom here. So sit back, relax, and I’ll try to entertain you!
Yours truly,
